Maersk Training achieves OPITO accreditation for Major Emergency Management training and wins large new contract
Thursday, Jan 19, 2012
Maersk Training, part of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group, is celebrating the 1st birthday of its Aberdeen centre by becoming only the 2nd company in the UK (and 5th in the world) to be accredited by OPITO, the Oil & Gas Academy, to deliver Major Emergency Management – Initial Response training. This is in addition to being OPITO-approved for offshore survival (BOSIET and FOET) and safety (MIST) courses.
Maersk Training has invested substantially in its MEM facility, which is equipped with state of the art simulators and CCTV cameras and provides a realistic learning environment for offshore emergency scenarios.
On the strength of its facility and its expert course directors, Maersk Training won a significant large contract to deliver this training to one of the world’s biggest drilling contractors. And with demand for MEM training at an all time high, the initial course dates have all been nearly sold out to clients for the first half of 2012 already.
Duncan Bonner, Managing Director, says: “This latest seal of approval is testament to the high quality of training that Maersk Training deliver. Our ethos is: “a better learning experience”, and are very proud to have won over hundreds of companies and self-sponsored individuals as customers in our 1st year of operation.”
