Civil Structural Engineering Manager

A Major International EPC Company is looking for a Civil Structural Engineering Manager to join their Calgary based team to provide the direction, control, monitoring, supervision and co-ordination of the civil/structural engineering activities in support of company projects, policies and procedures.

The Civil Structural Engineering Manager will provide safety leadership and ensure that safety is at the forefront of all engineering activities. Ensure compliance with our client’s management systems, policies and procedures. Ensure civil/structural engineering and designing resources are sufficient to meet project plans. Work with project controls and project management to ensure alignment of civil/structural engineering plans and manpower. Ensure Lead Engineers are assigned and aware of engineering deliverables and schedules for all active projects. Promote effective communication and innovative challenge within the Civil/Structural Department in order to foster the production of safe, cost effective, fit for purpose, and constructible designs. Ensure design reviews are carried out in accordance with the approved project procedures and plans. Champion initiatives aimed at developing an innovative and cost effective approach to engineering work. Interface with other disciplines and developments. Evaluate individual department staff performance and provide ongoing coaching, feedback and guidance with respect to performance and career development.

The ideal candidate must posses a minimum 15 years Oil and Gas experience or equivalent in a design environment with an engineering contractor or operator, be a registered Professional Engineer with APEGGA, posses a diverse and broad engineering background in Oil and Gas Facilities projects.
